I recently picked up a used Gast vacuum pump and would like to build a vacuum press. I have reviewed the infomation on Joewoodworker.com and have a good idea how to make the vacuum pump work but would like to see the vacuum systems that others are using. Any information or pictures would be great.

Thanks!

Lance...very cool set up. Is the bottom just tempered hardboard? Aluminum Frame? What kind of rubber sheeting?

Lance,

What are you using to seal the two halves of the frame? I have been
trying to build a frame press from wood and it's been leaking. After
many hours of caulk and duct take she's only holding about 5Hg.
I've been thinking about aluminum or HDPE for my next go.

I've used a lot of vacuum seals, o-ring stock workes pretty well, but by far the best seals I've used have been from a company called Torr Technology. www.torrtech.com/Pages/Silicone-Seal.htm
Expensive but bomb proof.
